Abstrak

This research is a research related to finance. The discussion is aimed at the theme of financial distress that occurs in the machinery and heavy equipment sector. beyond that the machinery and heavy equipment sector in Indonesia is currently facing problems, namely the shortage of raw materials, infrastructure, utilities, and experts, which raises various challenges such as

government policies, raw debt and a fluctuating curve. The data collected is sourced from financial data from 5 machinery and heavy equipment companies that have gone public as well as financial support data for 5 years. The method used is the creation of Altman z Score and debt service coverage. The time of the research was carried out from February to June 2022. The other side of this study also looked at the effects of financial difficulties on the return of shares given to investors
